Installing Starship

  1. Buy or claim Starship on its Fab listing.

  2. Open the Epic Games Launcher and go to Unreal Engine → Library. Find Starship in your Fab Library (called the Vault in older launcher versions).

  3. Click Install to Engine and pick your engine version (5.4 to 5.8).

  4. Open your project, go to Edit → Plugins, search for Starship and enable it.

  5. Restart the editor when prompted.

Starship depends on Enhanced Input and Niagara. Both ship with Unreal Engine 5. If either is turned off in your project, turn it back on under Edit → Plugins.

Open the included demo level and press Play. The demo level and BP_Starship are pre-wired: board the ship, fly it, land on water, cruise into space, and watch the landing gear and vectoring engines work.

Next: Quick start.
